Work will be performed across the Fermilab site, which covers approximately 6,800 acres in Kane and DuPage Counties and includes approximately 375 buildings and structures. The site contains a wide variety of soil types and terrain, such as clay soils, fill, and saturated soils, in settings that include developed areas, open prairie, woodlands, wetlands, and areas adjacent to ponds and waterways.
