YAC Awning Replacement

Sarasota County ("County"), a political subdivision of the State of Florida, will receive quotes on the date indicated in OpenGov Procurement (OpenGov), the County's electronic procurement portal, for the purpose of selecting a contractor to replace an awning at the YAC Baseball Field Office Building.

Sarasota County Facilities requires a Contractor to provide and install an awning located at the baseball field office building of the Youth Athletic Complex (YAC), located at 2810 17th St., Sarasota, FL 34234. In October of 2024 the awning of the baseball field office sustained damage from Hurricane Milton.

Contractor Responsibilities

• Contractor shall coordinate work so that there is minimal to no interruption to daily work at any location.
• Contractor shall be responsible for any damage to County or third-party property caused by the Contractor or their employees. Restoration shall be made to the County's satisfaction.
• Contractor shall provide all personnel, labor, materials, equipment, engineering coordination, permitting requirements and supervision necessary to perform the services described herein.

Requirements

Work will generally include:

• Removal and disposal of any remaining damaged awning components (if present).
• Fabrication and installation of a new aluminum canopy system.
• Design coordination and preparation of required engineering documents.
• Installation of new foundations and anchoring.
• Final cleanup and closeout documentation.

Contractor shall replace the previous structure with a comparable system meeting current code requirements.

Awning Description

• Approximate size: 66 feet wide x 14 feet 6 inches projection (approximately 957 square feet).
• Aluminum framing system: Beams: Minimum 2" x 8" aluminum tube members. Posts: Minimum 4" x 4" aluminum tube members.
• Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) composite decking or approved equal.
• Integrated gutter along the lower edge of the slope.
• Powder-coated aluminum frame (white, stock color).
• All fasteners and hardware to be corrosion-resistant and appropriate for exterior coastal conditions.
• All structural components shall be designed to meet current Florida Building Code wind load requirements for this site.

Closeout Requirements

Prior to final payment, the contractor shall provide:

• Final inspection approval.
• Warranty documentation (minimum one-year workmanship warranty).
• As-built drawings, if required.
• Confirmation of site cleanup.

Project Duration

Work shall be completed no more than 90 days after receipt of the County Purchase Order.

Do not submit a quote of more than **$150,000.00** per project or per contract year.

It is the intent of the County to award a contract to the responsive and responsible offeror submitting the lowest total bid price. Unless otherwise noted, offerors must submit a price for every line item to be considered for award.

**Required** licenses: Offeror must have one of the following licenses: Certified Specialty Structure Contractor; Certified General Contractor; Certified Building Contractor.

Offeror must provide a minimum of two verifiable commercial, industrial, or governmental references demonstrating their experience installing aluminum awnings, canopies, or exterior aluminum structures within the past seven years preceding the submission deadline in OpenGov. At least one reference must be from a governmental entity.

Insurance: Workers' Compensation in accordance with Florida Statutes, Chapter 440, with Employers Liability minimum **$500,000.00**; Commercial General Liability of not less than **$1,000,000.00** each occurrence, **$2,000,000.00** aggregate; Business Automobile Liability not less than **$1,000,000** combined single limit for each accident.
