What the bid is for

The project involves improvements to the existing commercial building, including demolition and replacement of the front entrance enclosure with a new insulated enclosure featuring thermopane windows, entrance doors, lighting, and associated electrical work. Additional improvements include removal of existing floor tiles, surface preparation and repairs, and application of commercial-grade epoxy flooring throughout the supermarket, entrance enclosure, office, and hallway areas.

Project Location: 1050 Main St., Fleischmanns, NY 12430. Property Owner: Naren Patel.

Scope

Front Entrance - Demo

  • Demo the existing enclosure, the floor mats, and the steel plate in the doorway.
  • Repair the concrete as needed under the mats and steel plate.
  • Disconnect the electric boxes from the enclosure for reuse.
  • Demo the small metal handrail by the left entrance door.

Front Entrance - Construction

  • Work with a company such as Decker Glass (www.deckerglassdoor.com) to design and build a new enclosure that will look similar to the old one as far as window/wall ratio, center wall, and full view doors. The door on the right end will be eliminated.
  • The new enclosure will be fully insulated with a center wall. Insulated wall panels, thermopane glass windows, and two thermopane full view 42" wide doors.
  • The new enclosure will be the same width but longer than the old one. [...] The total length of the new enclosure will be approx. 38'.
  • Fit the bottom of the wall tight to the concrete and make it weather tight. Use an Azak or similar, wide base that will help protect the wall from rock salt.
  • The liquor store door will remain intact. The outer door and the inner door for the supermarket will be 42" wide, both manual opening doors, and will be positioned in line with each other.
  • Install a ceiling tile grid at the same height as the existing. Install an adequate amount of LED light bars on the ceiling, connect to the existing switch.
  • Reinstall the outlet box on the end wall.
  • Prime and paint interior and exterior as needed. Color by owner.

Floor - The enclosure, supermarket, office area, and the entire hall behind the office.

  • Move all the units that are meant to be movable and finish the floor under them.
  • Remove floor tiles where they still exist (office, hall, under edge of shelving units).
  • Thoroughly clean and patch the floor to get ready for paint.
  • Thoroughly clean, wire brush, and prepare the bottom of the shelving units to get ready for paint. Just the base around the bottom of the units.
  • Paint the base of the shelving units, color by owner.
  • Paint the entire floor with a high quality commercial epoxy.
