What the bid is for

Neighborhood House proposes to improve the rear side of its facility by constructing an accessible route through the existing curb and landscape area and installing a new gate with panic hardware. The project is intended to remove a physical barrier, improve safe movement through the rear area, and provide a more usable route for participants, caregivers, visitors, and staff with mobility needs.

Neighborhood House serves children and adults at 1050 West 500 South in Salt Lake City.

Scope

This plan includes removal and restoration of landscaping, curb demolition, concrete installation, gutter grinding, a gate with panic hardware, temporary security, architectural plans, permit allowance, project supervision and coordination, debris removal, cleanup, and contingency.

  • Planning and field verification: Confirm existing grades, drainage, gate location, route width, adjacent obstacles, utility conflicts, gate swing, egress function, and security requirements.
  • Design and permit documents: Prepare and submit architectural plans and supporting information required for Salt Lake City review. Revise documents as required by the authority having jurisdiction.
  • Site preparation and protection: Establish the work area, protect adjacent operations, remove affected bushes and landscape materials, and install a temporary security wall or barrier.
  • Demolition and grading: Sawcut and remove the affected curb and concrete. Prepare the base and grades for the approved accessible route.
  • Concrete and transition work: Place new concrete, form the approved curb or ramp transitions, finish surfaces for slip resistance, and grind the top of the gutter where required for a safe transition.
  • Gate installation: Provide and install the new gate with panic hardware. Final gate width, hardware height, maneuvering clearance, opening force, closing behavior, and swing will follow the approved plans and applicable life-safety requirements.
  • Restoration and closeout: Haul off debris, complete construction cleanup, restore affected landscaping, obtain final inspection approval, and deliver closeout documentation.
