What the bid is for

The County of Lake is inviting sealed proposals from qualified contractors for the abatement and removal of dilapidated lakebed structures along the shoreline of Clear Lake. The project includes two sites located along Highway 20 in Clearlake Oaks.

The County, acting as the trustee of the submerged lands of Clear Lake, administers these areas in accordance with the Lake County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 23, Shoreline Ordinance. All structures located within public trust lands are required to be maintained in safe and proper conditions and must support public trust purposes, including navigation, recreation, water quality, and environmental protection.

The County has identified certain structures that are not in compliance with these requirements. Property owners have failed to adequately maintain, repair, or remove these structures.
