The CTE Pathways to Cultural Practice Project aims to build culturally grounded CTE pathways within Hawaiʻi’s public education system. The project integrates Native Hawaiian cultural practices with foundations of CTE programs, preparing Hawaiʻi Department of Education (DOE) and Hawaiian Focused Charter School students for careers rooted in Hawaiian traditions. The Program is grounded first in Aloha ʻĀina and ʻIke Kūpuna, honoring ancestral knowledge as the foundation of learning, allowing students to engage Hawaiian knowledge systems as living, guiding frameworks. Through this approach, students are prepared for postsecondary pathways, workforce opportunities, and community leadership grounded in kuleana to ʻāina and lāhui.
