REGISTERED DIETITIAN SERVICES

The County of Bergen, NJ desires to establish a contract with a Registered Dietitian to perform various services for the Bergen County Department of Human Services, Senior Services Division. Prospective service providers shall be currently registered with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and have a minimum of five (5) years experience in elder adult nutrition and nutrition education.

The term of the contract shall be for an initial twelve (12) consecutive month period commencing on or about January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2027 with two (2) twelve (12) consecutive month renewal contract options.

The County of Bergen estimates this contract as a part-time or per diem service, approximately fifteen (15) hours per week.

The County of Bergen currently operates twenty-five (25) senior congregate meal sites within the borders of the County. Approximately 50-100 clients attend each senior congregate meal center daily, Monday through Saturday.

Potential service providers must be able to perform the following:

• Nutrition education, kitchen inspection, informal staff in-services, food safety monitoring and the certification of menus to nutrition sites as identified.
• Responsible for providing quarterly nutrition education classes to each congregate meal site as assigned.
• Provide technical assistance to increase client satisfaction, program efficiency, food safety practices and improve nutritional content of congregate meals.
• Shall perform other duties as outlined by the Division of Senior Services' Nutrition Program Director.

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the field of Adult Dietetics and/or Gerontological Nutrition.
• All providers must submit their professional resume and Credential Verification with their bid proposal.
• Providers shall submit recent established business reference letters with bid proposal.
• Reference letters and resumes will not be accepted after the time of bid opening.

Each contract renewal option period will be exercised at the County of Bergen's sole discretion. In the event laws or funding is changed in regard to this service, the County retains the right to cancel this contract, or modify same to reflect the changes, at the County's option, upon thirty (30) days written notice to the service provider.

The successful service provider shall use their own vehicle or other method of transportation to successfully comply with the scope of this service contract. Travel expenses inclusive of incurred mileage shall not be paid or be reimbursable as a separate item in this contract.

The service provider shall agree to a criminal history record information (CHRI) - Fingerprinting background check, to be performed independently and submitted to the County of Bergen upon the award of the contract. Any and all background checks submitted to the County must be conducted within the past twelve (12) months preceding award.

The County of Bergen Department of Human Services is budgeted **$35,000.00** annually for this service.
