Manley - Taylor Rd Bridge

Repair bridge as per engineer design all information can be requested from the Florence town clerk at townclerk@florenceny.gov or the highway department at highwaysuperintendent@florenceny.gov

MANLEY TAYLOR ROAD OVER MAD RIVER RED FLAG REPAIR, BIN 2205680, TOWN OF FLORENCE, ONEIDA COUNTY.

This bridge, including existing elements and those repaired or replaced under this contract, shall be maintained in accordance with the guidelines in the current edition of the AASHTO maintenance manual for roadways and bridges.

Steel notes

• All structural steel shall conform to ASTM A709 Grade 50.
• All bolts, nuts, and washers shall be plain or hot dipped galvanized in accordance with the new York State Steel Construction Manual.
• Bolts shall be ASTM F3125, Grade A325, Type 1. Nuts shall be A563, Grade 2H. Washers shall be F436, Type 1.

Reconstruction notes

• The contractor shall verify dimensions necessary for the proper fit of steel pieces prior to the fabrication of the steel.
• Lead is assumed to be present on existing steel. Removal and disposal shall be paid for under: Item 570.01 Lead Exposure Plan; Item 570.02 Medical Testing; Item 570.03 Personal Exposure Monitoring Sample Analysis; Item 570.04 Decontamination Facilities; Item 570.090001 Environmental Ground Protection; Item 570.100001 Environmental Waterway Protection; Item 571.03 Disposal of Hazardous Paint Waste Containing Lead.
• Cyanide is assumed to be present on existing steel.

The bids have to be sealed and sent to 11893 Thompson Crnrs - Florence Rd, Camden,NY 13316.

Bids must be received to be opened at board meeting 14 December 2026.

The bridge can also be inspected at Manley-Taylor Rd in Florence New York.

Item numbers indicated on the plans are provided to indicate the NYSDOT standard specification to be followed during construction. Bids shall be provided as a lump sum cost to the owner.

Required environmental permits to allow for in water work have not been obtained. It is anticipated that work will be performed in such a manner to not require in water work.
