Sealed Bid - Prj 449 Rehabilitation of N. Gage Rd CR 65 T/Newport Herkimer Co NY

Sealed proposals will be received by the County of Herkimer, New York, until **10:00 A.M.**, at the Prevailing time on **December 2, 2026** at the Office of the Department of Highways, 313 Third Avenue, Herkimer, New York, for the Rehabilitation of North Gage Road (CR 65), situated in the Town of Newport, Herkimer County, New York.

The Rehabilitation of North Gage Road project will consist of the rehabilitation of 2.3 miles of roadway in the Town of Newport. The project begins at the Oneida County line and continues east to the intersection with Old State Road. The work will include, but is not limited to: reprofiling the existing oil & stone pavement, widening and overlay with gravel subbase, culvert replacements, and paving binder and top course asphalt. Ditches will be reshaped and stone-lined as needed. Driveway culverts will be replaced and driveways will be reestablished to the new road surface.

Sealed bids must be plainly marked with: "Sealed Bid – Rehabilitation of North Gage Road (CR 65)". All bids received pursuant to this notice will be publicly opened and read aloud at the office of the Department of Highways at **10:00 A.M.** on the same date.

Copies of the *Contract Documents* are on file at the Herkimer County Highway Department, 313 Third Avenue, Herkimer, New York 13350 and may be examined, at no expense, between the hours of 8:00 am – 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm local time Monday through Friday.

A deposit of check/money order made payable to the County of Herkimer or by credit card via phone/online/in person (credit card fees apply) in the amount of **$50.00** must be received prior to issuance of documents. No refund will be made.

Contractors must obtain *Contract Documents* from the issuing office to be placed on the Official Plan Holder List in order to receive addenda and any other bid correspondence. Bids received from Contractors not on the Official Plan Holders List will not be accepted.

Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of **5 percent (5%)** of the gross amount of the bid. The bidder to whom the Contract is awarded will be required to furnish performance, payment, and guarantee bonds from an acceptable Surety Company for an amount not less than **100%** of the accepted bid.
