Buggy Building Roof Replacement

Lee County is seeking to replace the roof for the historic Buggy Building. Sealed bids for the project will be received from bidders by the Owner at 115 Chatham Street, Sanford, North Carolina 27330 until **9:00 AM on 11-10-2026**, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

The scope of work includes the provision of labor, material, equipment, supervision and administration to integrate the work outlined in the specifications into the total building system such that no leakage occurs.

The Bidder proposes and agrees if this bid is accepted to contract with the Owner in the form of contract specified, to furnish all necessary materials, equipment, machinery, tools apparatus, means of transportation and labor necessary to complete the construction of the project.

Perform all work under a single prime contract.

Include in the Base Bid the Contingency Allowance specified in Section 01 21 00 "Allowances" of the Project Manual.

Include in the Base Bid the Quantity Allowances specified in Section 01 21 00 "Allowances" of the Project Manual.

• Replace 250 BF of Deteriorated Wood Plank Deck. Refer to Section 06 15 00 "Wood Decking".
• Replace 250 BF of Deteriorated Wood Blocking. Refer to Section 06 10 00 "Rough Carpentry"
• Replace 96 SF of Deteriorated Plywood. Refer to Section 06 10 00 "Rough Carpentry"

Alternate No. 1: Sector C, relocate all disconnect boxes, uni-struts and conduits to disconnect stands.

Sealed bids must be delivered to 115 Chatham Street, Suite 301, Sanford, NC 27330 by **9:00 AM on 11-10-2026**. Please note that, as stated in Section 00 21 13 Instruction to Bidders, **two complete bid packages must be submitted** - if only one bid package is submitted the bid will be rejected. Both bid packages may be in one sealed envelope. Please note that Digital submissions are not allowed. Bids should be labeled with bid names and number and mailed, or hand delivered.

Bid security in the amount equal to not less than **5%** of the gross amount of the bid is required. A Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the amount of the contract is **required**.

It is the intention of the Owner to award a contract for work under this project to the lowest responsible Bidder.

No bid may be withdrawn after receipt of Bids for a period of 60 days.

A Pre-Bid Meeting is scheduled for 9:00 AM on 10-27-2026 at the project address listed above. Attendance is **mandatory**.
