The Texas A&M University – Kingsville Event Planning department, subsequently referred to as Event Planning, is responsible for the planning, setup, and execution of the majority of public and private events held across campus. In light of this, we have taken over responsibility for the Commencement of the university, and have need for a quality equipment in the form of two LED video walls and a high-quality sound mixer with a digital stage box that can handle broadcast and front of house audio.
Event Planning requires two LED Display Walls, approximately 9’x15’, each with a pixel pitch of between 2.9 - 3.9. These LED Walls would be for live video magnification and presentations in a mobile capacity to be setup across campus as needed, and therefore need to be able to be hung in the interior of a building from rafters/girders in the ceiling, as well as be ground-stacked universally. Its components need to be compatible with Apple’s Mac OS for design, control, and configuration, as well as be of utmost quality and durability for indoor and outdoor use. Reliability and stability of the equipment and the software used is integral to its design and usage. These LED Walls must be accompanied by all trussing, mounting equipment, processors, hoists, cables, ballasts, specific maintenance/construction tools, and other equipment needed for a complete build of the equipment in the pre-described use-cases for the screens. Finally, Event Planning is requesting in-person training on the rigging, setup, control, teardown, and storage of the LED Display Walls for indoor hanging and indoor/outdoor ground stacking.
Event Planning is also requesting a Yamaha DM5 audio console for use in our higher-level events that often require a hybrid in-room and online broadcast mixing strategy and workflow. Secondly, we require the addition of the optional YP-DSP card to unlock full functionality in the console’s audio capabilities, the broadcast software package for enhanced broadcast monitoring and workflow, and a Rio-32 channel stage box. Where possible, we request the items be sold with Yamaha’s education discount given our status as a public state university.
