Upfit of two (2) 2026 Freightliner 114SD Chassis into Fully Functional Dump Trucks with Front-Mounted Low and Dump Bed Slip-In Sander Ability

The El Dorado County Procurement & Contracts Division is requesting bids for purchase of two (2) dump body upfits with manual tarp systems and the ability to accept a front-mounted low and dump bed slip-in sander for winter snow removal functions to turn two (2) 2026 Freightliner 114SD chassis into fully functional dump trucks as per bid specifications on Pages twelve (12) through thirteen (13).

Dump body upfit specifications are general guidelines. Minor deviations from these specifications may be accepted at the sole discretion of the County. Major exceptions, which, in the opinion of the County, affect the function of the vehicle, will not be accepted.

The upfit shall be performed to meet all applicable local, state and federal regulations and shall comply with industry best standards and OEM standards when applicable.

**Delivery:** Vehicles for upfit will be delivered by EDC – Department of Transportation staff to the awarded bidders place of business, located within (100) miles of 2441 Headington Road, Placerville, CA.

Quotation Schedule items

• Dump Body: Install (1) 10' BeauRoc DH dump body, 5–7-yard capacity, 500 Hardox floor, sills & sides, C-Channel long sills, 56" tall 500 Hardox head sheet with 24" cab shield, 30" slanted tailgate, Champion C820SF Double Acting Underbody Hoist with a capacity of 22 tons providing a 50 degree dump angle and 12" overhang, painted black and certified.
• Manual Tarp System: Tarp enclosure mounted to front end of dump body above sideboard slots to include (1) spring retractable, manual deployment asphalt vinyl tarp w/ side flaps and grommets.
• Buck Plate and Hitch: Constructed of 5/8" steel and to include a premier 2400 air pintle hitch, (2) 1" D-rings, service & supply glad hands mounted to the driver's side, 7-way commercial & 7-way RV style trailer sockets, red LED ID SSTL light bar mounted to top center, LED license plate light mounted to top passenger side. No under bars and painted black.

Bids may be submitted through PlanetBids or by hard copy in a sealed envelope. Sealed Bids must be clearly marked on the outside of the package with: "BID #2026-0156, MAILROOM DO NOT OPEN"

Due: 3:00 PM (Pacific) – November 9, 2026.

Bids will be accepted Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

All bids shall be quoted freight prepaid FOB destination.

Bid price must remain in effect for a period of no less than ninety (90) days from the date of the bidding.

Bidders must possess a valid and current California Seller's Permit at the time of bidding.

The awarded bidder's service location must be located within one hundred (100) miles of EDC-DOT, 2441 Headington Road, Placerville, CA.

Regardless of amount, unless specifically approved by the County Board of Supervisors, award shall be made to the lowest responsive, responsible, qualified bidder.
