Palm Bay Aquatic Center

City Council has directed staff to issue a Request for Qualifications for services to assume the operational responsibilities of this center. The City of Palm Bay’s goals are to maintain and/or enhance aquatic recreation opportunities for residents and visitors while minimizing and/or eliminating financial impact to the City.

The City of Palm Bay Aquatic Center is located at 420 Community College Parkway SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909. This facility is comprised of a 323,775-gallon pool and support elements and buildings.

The challenge is to identify cost-effective and sustainable operational models, and/or partnerships that allow the aquatic facilities and programs to continue while optimizing the use of a public facility.

This outdoor facility was opened in 2003 (22 years old) and includes one body of water with:

• 8-lane, 25-yard lap area,
• Dive well with two 1-meter diving boards
• Beach area with zero depth entry featuring several water spray features, and
• 18 ft tall, 104 foot long, enclosed polyethylene tube slide, discharging into 3’-3” deep water.

Programming at the facility includes:

• Several local schools use the aquatic center for their swim practices
• The facility will host 13 swim meets from August to October 2025, serving three high schools and private schools.
