Walton County BCC Purchasing Building – Exterior Siding Painting

Walton County is requesting quotes for the preparation and painting of the existing exterior metal siding on the Walton County BCC Purchasing Building. The purpose of this project is to refresh the building’s exterior appearance by painting the existing siding gray and painting the window frames, gutters, garage doors, and exterior trim black.

The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and supervision necessary to complete the following work.

A. Surface Preparation

• Inspect existing metal siding and associated surfaces before painting.
• Clean surfaces as necessary to remove dirt, debris, chalking, and other contaminants.
• Prepare all surfaces according to the coating manufacturer's recommendations.
• Remove loose or peeling paint and address minor surface preparation needs.
• Protect adjacent surfaces, windows, doors, landscaping, walkways, and other areas from overspray and paint splatter.

B. Exterior Siding Painting

• Apply an exterior-grade coating suitable for the existing metal siding.
• Paint all designated siding surfaces gray, using a color selected by Walton County.
• Apply an appropriate primer and two finish coats where necessary, based on the condition of the existing surface and the coating manufacturer's recommendations.
• Use compatible primers and coatings suitable for the existing metal substrate.
• Apply a satin finish to the painted siding.
• Ensure consistent color coverage and uniform, professional appearance.

C. Window Frames, Gutters, Garage Doors and Exterior Trim

• Paint exterior window frames, existing gutters, garage doors, and exterior trim black.
• Prepare all surfaces appropriately and use coatings compatible with the materials being painted.
• Apply an appropriate primer and two finish coats where necessary to achieve proper adhesion, coverage, and durability.
• Provide a satin finish

D. Equipment and Access

• The contractor shall provide all equipment necessary to safely and properly complete the project, including lifts, scaffolding, ladders, and other access equipment required to reach all exterior surfaces, including the gable peaks.
• All equipment, transportation, setup, and associated costs shall be included in the contractor's quote.

E. Cleanup and Final Inspection

• Remove masking materials, paint debris, and project-related waste upon completion.
• Leave the work area clean and orderly.
• Conduct a final inspection with Walton County's designated representative.
• Complete necessary touch-ups and correct deficiencies related to the contractor's workmanship before final acceptance.

All work shall be performed Friday through Sunday only. The contractor shall coordinate the work schedule and site access with Walton County before beginning work.

Contractor required documentation (upon award)

• Liability Insurance naming Walton County
• Proof of Workman’s Compensation Coverage

The contractor's written quote shall include total project cost, a breakdown of labor and material costs, proposed paint manufacturer, product names, and coating specifications, and estimated project duration and proposed work schedule.
