This is an invitation to submit a Bid ("IFB") for the performance of construction and landscaping services for the Belmont Avenue Extended (Buffer) Drainage Project for Chevy Chase Village, located between Grove and Park Streets, which will include, but not be limited to, removal of existing drainage infrastructure, grading, installation of new piping and inlets, installation of plant material and mulching, and replacement of an irrigation system.
Chevy Chase Village (the "Village") is an incorporated municipality within Montgomery County, Maryland.
Chevy Chase Village intends to enter into a Unit Price Contract with a qualified firm to provide construction and construction-related services including but not limited to the construction, repair, retrofit, alteration and modernization for:
Chevy Chase Village: Buffer Area – Landscape and Storm Drain:
The project calls for the full renovation of the Chevy Chase Buffer area which borders Belmont Avenue, Center Street, Montgomery Street, Grove Street and Park Street. The existing area has become barren due to the overgrowth of canopy trees. Analysis shows that the existing storm drain system is inadequate to capture and convey stormwater runoff that enters the area. In order to remedy this the renovation includes the installation of a new storm drainage system, soil amendments, tree installation, landscaping, conveyance swales and a 4-inch wide trench drain inside the gutter at the Grove Street entrance.
Access to the project is near private properties, which must be restored in a manner sensitive to the abutting neighbors and surrounding community. Handling of stormwater flows through the work areas must be considered.
The Work is not considered complete until the Village Engineer and Village Staff have completed a punch list inspection and all identified punch list items addressed.
The Contractor shall ensure the quality of work by employing qualified, experienced personnel, trained in environmental restoration and sediment control measures. Contractor will provide all necessary management, supervision, personnel, labor, tools, materials, and equipment for each of the Lump Sum bids.
