Summary

AI-read from the bid documents

Summary fields on this page were extracted by AI from the bid documents. Always verify dates, amounts and requirements against the official solicitation.

What the bid is for

Provide a complete, independently powered and removable water distribution apparatus mounted on a structurally engineered, 20-foot ISO container-style flat skid with ISO-compatible twistlock corner fittings for securement to the Owner’s truck-mounted container carrier. This is not a cable roll-off frame.

Intended uses include municipal road maintenance, landfill dust suppression, road watering, cleaning, and emergency water distribution where authorized. The apparatus operates on the truck and on suitably stable, level ground without reliance on the truck hydraulic system for its normal water functions.

Scope

  • Provide a structurally engineered steel ISO container-style skid nominally 20 feet long and 8 feet wide with four lower ISO 1161-compatible corner fittings, or equivalently certified fittings, located and oriented to engage the four twistlocks on the Owner’s actual carrier.
  • The overall assembled skid height [...] shall EXCEED 96 inches (8 feet).
  • Provide approximately 13,000 liters to 15,000 liters of nominal usable water capacity (approximately 3,500 to 4,000 U.S. gallons, rounded).
  • Provide an internal polyethylene baffle-ball surge suppression system (e.g., LiquidLocker or equivalent).
  • Provide heavy-duty industrial diesel engine (Kubota, Yanmar, Kohler or approved equal), electric start, electronic/manual throttle, remote starting/stopping, engine-hour meter, charging alternator, accessible fuel tank, and local controls and e-stop.
  • **Self-priming main pump — mandatory.** Provide a genuinely self-priming centrifugal water-distribution pump or engineered automatic priming arrangement.
  • Water distribution: rear left, center and right sprays, elevated left-side and right-side sprays, and a removable dribble bar and street-flusher bar, each with a dedicated valve and remote control.
  • Supply an industrial electrically actuated water monitor/cannon of bidder-selected make and model. The preferred design operating point is approximately 200 U.S. GPM (757 L/min). Install the monitor on the DRIVER’S SIDE of the skid.
  • Provide heavy-duty electric or spring-rewind reel with a minimum 1-inch nominal industrial/fire-service-grade water hose; minimum 100 ft.
  • Provide a hydrant-compatible connection and top-fill receiving funnel/chamber with a physical air gap, overhead gravity fill, and a lockable hydrant equipment storage box.
  • Provide an industrial weather-resistant handheld wireless controller for the water distribution system.
  • Provide at least one clearly labeled, mechanically latching emergency-stop pushbutton readily reachable from ground level.
  • Provide SpeedTech MultiColor K-Force Micro Elite 21 Linear LED Mini Light Bar (Dual Memory) or equal, with AMBER and WHITE LED configuration, and rear-facing LED work lights.
  • Self-contained battery/charging system independent of truck, with fuse/circuit breaker distribution and externally accessible battery disconnect.
  • All three add alternates shall be quoted separately and may be accepted or rejected independently. The base bid excludes these alternates.
  • Add Alternate No. 1: external suction filling.
  • Add Alternate No. 2: 3,000-liter water trailer.
  • Add Alternate No. 3: 2,000-liter pressure cleaning and washdown trailer.
