What the bid is for

The State of Utah Division of Facilities Construction and Management (DFCM) is requesting bids from Stage II Prequalified Mechanical & Site Civil Contractors for Construction services for the following project. Contractors not prequalified through the Stage I Request for Statement of Qualifications process are not eligible to bid on this project.

WSU Waterline Replacement, Phase 3, Weber State University, Ogden, Utah. DFCM Project #20417810 | U3P Reference # CS27028.

Brief Project Description: Replacement of the culinary water and secondary irrigation mains along 4100 South at the south end of the WSU main campus, including associated vaults, valves, hydrant connections, and surface restoration.

Construction Budget:** **$1,400,000.00

Scope

Replace the existing mains with 12-inch culinary water and 10-inch secondary irrigation mains using Niron piping and associated connections as shown in the drawings. Work includes utility vaults, valves and fittings, new and reconnected fire hydrants, existing-system tie-ins, water interruption and shutdown coordination and removal or abandonment of existing facilities where indicated.

Include demolition, excavation, bedding, backfill and compaction, required testing and disinfection, erosion control, and restoration of disturbed pavement, curb and gutter, landscaping, and pavement markings in accordance with the project drawings and specifications.

  • All work must take place between May 3rd and August 13, 2027.
  • Impact on two-way traffic flow must be minimized wherever possible. Maintain two-way traffic wherever practical and provide traffic control and flagging where single-lane operation is necessary. Coordinate construction phasing and access restrictions with WSU and applicable agencies. Obtain required WSU digging and UDOT encroachment permits and comply with applicable work-hour restrictions.
  • Coordinate tie-ins and transitions to the new mains with WSU well in advance, with at least 7 days' notice for planned utility shutdowns and road or sidewalk closures. Confirm the affected facilities, shutdown sequence, and anticipated outage duration, and have required couplings and fittings on site before interrupting service. Minimize downtime and coordinate required testing and acceptance before placing the new facilities into service. Timing of these interruptions and minimizing of the downtime is critical to project success.
  • Parking on campus in any area other than the free lot, approved staging areas and at the Dee Events Center requires a valid parking permit. Those permits must be obtained by and paid for by the contractor.
