Gold Team review

Also called: Gold Team, Executive review

Updated

What is Gold Team review?

A Gold Team review is the final executive review of a proposal before submission. Senior leaders confirm the proposal is compliant, the price and commitments are acceptable, the risks are understood, and the company is ready to sign. It is an approval step, not a time for major rewrites.

What Gold Team checks

Executives with authority to commit the company read the near-final proposal and price. They confirm the offer, the staffing and key personnel commitments, the terms they are agreeing to, and that the Red Team findings were addressed. Many companies combine it with the final pricing approval.

Where it fits

Gold Team is the last of the color team reviews, followed by production checks: page limits, formatting, forms, the cross-reference matrix and the submission itself.

Common mistakes

Using Gold Team to reopen strategy, scheduling it so close to the deadline that its comments cannot be applied, and skipping a final compliance check after the last edits.

Gold Team also confirms the business case still holds. If the price, the staffing commitments or the terms have changed since the bid/no-bid decision, executives decide whether to submit as planned, adjust the offer or, rarely, withdraw. That decision should be recorded with its reasons.

Gold Team review in ProposalWorkspace

ProposalWorkspace adds the Gold Team date to the review milestones, and its Final Check & Sign-off gate asks someone who did not write the proposal to read the final draft and sign off, with the name and time recorded, before the proposal moves to submission.
