Pink Team review
Also called: Pink Team

What is Pink Team review?
A Pink Team review is an early review of a proposal's structure, outline and coverage, held before most writing is done. Reviewers check that the outline follows Section L, that every requirement has a home, and that the planned content and themes will answer Section M, so problems are fixed while they are still cheap.
What Pink Team reviews
Depending on the company, the Pink Team reads the annotated outline, storyboards or a first rough draft. The checks are structural: does the outline match Section L, does each compliance matrix row point to a heading, are page limits allocated, and do the planned win themes and proof points answer the factors.
Common mistakes
Reviewing polished text instead of structure, skipping the compliance check, and not giving writers clear actions afterward. Practice varies, so tell reviewers exactly what stage of material they will see.
Give Pink Team reviewers the solicitation, the compliance matrix and the outline, and ask them to answer a short set of questions: is anything missing, is anything in the wrong place, is the page budget realistic, and is the main message of each section clear. Specific answers to those questions are more useful than line edits on early text.
Pink Team review in ProposalWorkspace
ProposalWorkspace puts the Pink Team date on the proposal deadlines with a reminder email, and reviewers comment in the margin of the outline or draft with tracked changes on, so every comment is tied to the text it refers to.
Pink Team review: questions and answers
What does a Pink Team review?
The proposal's structure and early content: the outline, storyboards or first draft, checked for compliance with Section L, coverage of every requirement and alignment with Section M.
How far along should the draft be at Pink Team?
Companies differ. Many review an outline or storyboard; others a rough first draft. The point is to fix structure before most writing is done.
